Colleges.

I called my local college. They said a spaghetti fundraiser was an excellent idea. Now all I need is a date to do it and a theme. Does anyone have any ideas?

College Tuition

Hi everyone!
I am doing a project for school about a "big idea".  My idea is changing the way tuition is being doled out at our local college. A 2007 statistic from the department of education states that "30% of students drop out after their first year and 50% never return". A top reason for students dropping out is money, Richard Vedder from Forbes magazine says that only a measly .21 is being put aside for instruction of students while .89, which is over 2/3 of your tuition, is being put elsewhere. As an example I will use the cost of my tuition from community college, 3,520 out of that money only 729.20 was being put aside for my instruction.  But where is the rest of the money being put? The same man also speaks about how schools use tuition money for "generous pay increases, luxurious facilities, and support athletics". Perhaps I am missing something, but these things aren't helping us achieve our goals. Students of the community need to come together. How about a spaghetti fundraiser for the football team, which is the most expensive of our athletics? If anyone wants to be a part of this or has any other ideas, please comment or ask for my phone number. The only way to make a difference is to take this into our own hands. More facts and information will be posted in the next few days.
